In this ground-breaking new TV series you get to watch the first ever motorcycle racing game show where two brothers and two friends take on local challengers on the best racetracks from Canada to California.

Each episode has an interesting twist when the team challenges 10 local riders to a hot lap contest. The fastest rider who beats our team’s best lap time gets a ticket to the Grand Finale for a chance to race and WIN a FREE bike!

In addition to the main storyline of the two brothers racing, the show has a season-long story arc with travel editorial about a dream pilgrimage to race track Mecca’s of yester-year, including each track’s unique history and current special features.

HOT LAP is a first person adrenaline spiked tale, told by a likeable cast, as they travel the most famous race tracks – throwing down the racing gauntlet for the fastest lap.

The show is filmed as unscripted reality TV and mixes motor-sports tourism, fast paced racing action, an interesting cast of characters, intense competition and real danger with dramatic victories and defeats. HOT LAP is designed to appeal to all motorsport and travel enthusiasts.
Season one is being billed as ‘Canada to California’; season two is ‘L.A. to London’.

Dec 31, 2011 (Toronto, Canada) – Congratulations to Bob Scholten of RDS Racing, California USA – Bob has been named “The Official Ambassador of All Challengers” by the producer and host of HOT LAP Andrew Shaw.

Bob Schotlten and RDS Racing are helping co-ordinate the track arrangements for the California group of race tracks scheduled for the grand finale episode of HOT LAP, the new Reality TV show.

Monday, September 26th, 2011 (Toronto) – Every amateur sport bike rider longs to see how far he can push his motorcycle and his own skills. A new television show, HOT LAP, gives amateur riders a chance to race at ten of the fastest tracks in North America. Featuring amateur riders the series is the first motorcycle racing game show where challengers race for the fastest lap of the day to win a ticket to attend the season grand finale episode. This unscripted reality TV production launches production at the North American International Motorcycle SUPERSHOW in January 2012.

“We are very excited to be working with the SUPERSHOW on the launch of HOT LAP,” says HOT LAP producer and host Andrew Shaw. “There is no better venue to premiere our exciting new TV production than at North America’s largest motorcycle show! Visitors can also join us at the HOT LAP booth throughout the three-day event and apply in-person to be selected as a challenger during season one.”

In each episode of HOT LAP, the challenger with the fastest lap will win a ticket to the main event at Laguna Seca, California, where ten finalists will compete for the title of season champion and a chance to win a bike and to join the show as a cast member. HOT LAP is being released as a multi-part broadcast series for television, a sports travel documentary and streaming video series.

“HOT LAP is like a cross between the hit BBC series ‘TOP GEAR’ and a motorcycle racing game show version of ‘AMERICAN IDOL’ – it’s sure to be a hit!” says Andrew.

The casting call will take place at the North American International Motorcycle SUPERSHOW, the continent’s largest motorcycle show. The 2012 event boasts the 36th year the show with everything to do with motorcycles under one roof. The SUPERSHOW runs from January 6-8, 2012 at the International Centre.

Our film productions group has started shooting a TV series called HOT LAP, filming in 2012.  The 13 episode broadcast series is the first motorcycle racing game show where challengers race champions for the fastest lap of the day. This unscripted reality TV production is filming at 13 locations across Canada and the United States – at the world’s fastest race tracks.

Every episode, the challenger with the fastest lap will win a ticket to the main event to be hosted at Laguna Seca, California, where 10 finalists will compete for the title of season champion and a chance to join the show as a cast member.

HOT LAP is being released as a multi-part broadcast series for television, a sports travel documentary and streaming video series. On January 12, we [Google] announced on this blog that Google and more than twenty other U.S. companies had been the victims of a sophisticated cyber attack originating from China, and that during our investigation into these attacks we had uncovered evidence to suggest that the Gmail accounts of dozens of human rights activists connected with China were being routinely accessed by third parties, most likely via phishing scams or malware placed on their computers. We also made clear that these attacks and the surveillance they uncovered—combined with attempts over the last year to further limit free speech on the web in China including the persistent blocking of websites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google Docs and Blogger—had led us to conclude that we could no longer continue censoring our results on Google.cn.

So earlier today we stopped censoring our search services—Google Search, Google News, and Google Images—on Google.cn. Users visiting Google.cn are now being redirected toGoogle.com.hk, where we are offering uncensored search in simplified Chinese, specifically designed for users in mainland China and delivered via our servers in Hong Kong. Users in Hong Kong will continue to receive their existing uncensored, traditional Chinese service, also from Google.com.hk. Due to the increased load on our Hong Kong servers and the complicated nature of these changes, users may see some slowdown in service or find some products temporarily inaccessible as we switch everything over.

Figuring out how to make good on our promise to stop censoring search on Google.cn has been hard. We want as many people in the world as possible to have access to our services, including users in mainland China, yet the Chinese government has been crystal clear throughout our discussions that self-censorship is a non-negotiable legal requirement. We believe this new approach of providing uncensored search in simplified Chinese fromGoogle.com.hk is a sensible solution to the challenges we’ve faced—it’s entirely legal and will meaningfully increase access to information for people in China. We very much hope that the Chinese government respects our decision, though we are well aware that it could at any time block access to our services. We will therefore be carefully monitoring access issues, and have created this new web page, which we will update regularly each day, so that everyone can see which Google services are available in China.

In terms of Google’s wider business operations, we intend to continue R&D work in China and also to maintain a sales presence there, though the size of the sales team will obviously be partially dependent on the ability of mainland Chinese users to access Google.com.hk. Finally, we would like to make clear that all these decisions have been driven and implemented by our executives in the United States, and that none of our employees in China can, or should, be held responsible for them. Despite all the uncertainty and difficulties they have faced since we made our announcement in January, they have continued to focus on serving our Chinese users and customers. We are immensely proud of them.

It was bound to happen and many predicted this year would be the one where we see social media – especially Facebook take away the most popular site crown from Google. The social networking site did beat out Google by a miniscule percentage – 7.07% to 7.03% in the US according to Hitwise. It is worth pointing out that social gaming seems to be the reason for the rapid rise of Facebook traffic. Moreover, Comscore and Alexa still rank Google as a traffic leader. Still the trend above has got to worry people at Google, Yahoo! and many media sites.
